Customised Statutes and Ordinances
Foundational documents governing the Board of Management, Academic Council, Executive Council and Finance Committee.
STATUTES, ORDINANCES & POLICIES
Ask most institutions where their Statutes and Ordinances came from, and the answer is often: copied from another university years ago, tweaked slightly and never reviewed. That works until a regulator asks a question your documents cannot answer or a dispute reveals that your Ordinances contradict your Statutes.
Governance determines whether Board decisions hold up, faculty appointments survive challenge and UGC sees an institution in control of itself. We draft, review and rebuild the Statutes, Ordinances and Policies that hold an institution together.
Built for decisions that hold up.
WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO
Foundational documents governing the Board of Management, Academic Council, Executive Council and Finance Committee.
Anti-ragging, POSH, examination, research and IP, student grievance redressal and other mandated policies.
Clear roles, powers and reporting lines across statutory bodies so decisions do not get stuck or challenged.
Checking existing documents against current UGC, AICTE and state regulations.
Helping present and defend governance changes to the Board and, where needed, regulators.
Developing a robust policy framework to support DPDP Act, 2025 compliance.
Crafting an omnibus framework for the use of AI by students, faculty and other stakeholders.
WHO THIS IS FOR
THE CONTEXT
UGC's regulatory environment is moving faster than most institutions' internal documents. Draft regulations on faculty appointment and promotion require institutions to align Statutes and Ordinances within six months of notification.
Data privacy requirements also call for a dedicated Data Protection Officer and policy frameworks protecting students, faculty and other stakeholders. The growth of AI in academic activity similarly demands an overarching policy for fair and ethical use.
OUR PROCESS
Each stage resolves the next critical question and creates a practical path to implementation.
Reviewing existing Statutes, Ordinances and Policies against current UGC, AICTE and state requirements.
Flagging outdated clauses, contradictions and missing mandated policies.
Building or rewriting the specific Statutes, Ordinances or Policies required.
Working with the Registrar, legal counsel and Board to align language with operational reality.
Preparing documentation and presentations for Board of Management and Academic Council sign-off.
Ensuring approved changes are properly notified and embedded into how the institution runs.
WHY INSTITUTIONS CHOOSE PARADIGM
Regulatory-first drafting - Policies and ordinances are grounded in current UGC, AICTE, BCI, MCI and other statutory requirements.
Comprehensive suite architecture - Governance frameworks connect academic, administrative, financial, examination, HR and student-welfare domains.
Institution-specific calibration - Templates are never applied off the shelf; every policy is adapted to the university type, trust structure and operational reality.
Accreditation and inspection readiness - Documents are structured and cross-referenced for NAAC, NBA and statutory inspection checklists.
Stakeholder-tested language - Policies balance legal rigour with implementability for faculty, administration and governance bodies.
Living document design - Revision protocols and version-control logic help the governance suite evolve with regulation.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Statutes are foundational governance rules. Ordinances sit under them and cover detailed procedures such as admissions or examinations. Policies address specific operational areas, such as anti-ragging or research ethics. All must be internally consistent.
It is common but risky. Copied documents can contain irrelevant clauses, miss state-specific requirements or contradict your own Act. Regulators expect documents tailored to your actual structure.
Draft regulations require institutions to align Statutes and Ordinances with the new framework within six months of notification, affecting recruitment, promotion and career-progression criteria.
A DPO is responsible for data-protection compliance, serving as a point of contact for data principals and the Data Protection Board of India.
Whenever binding regulation changes, and as a full review every few years even without a trigger.
